at the Congress Centrum in Hamburg [Germany] on Sunday, 17th November, 1974, presented by Lippmann+Rau in cooperation with local Hamburg promoter Hans-Werner Funke. The duo were touring Europe in support of the
Sweet Rhode Island Red
album, an album created exclusively for the international market. Recorded at Bolic Sound Studios in Inglewood, and produced by Ike Turner, the album was released in October 1974 just prior to the European tour by United Artists. A majority of the songs from the album were written by Tina Turner, including the title track which was released as a single in February 1974, peaking at #43 on the
Billboard
R&B chart. In 1974, the Turners received the Golden European Record Award, the first ever given, for selling more than one million records of "Nutbush City Limits" in Europe. Their follow-up singles "Sweet Rhode Island Red" and "Sexy Ida" both did well on the R&B chart and in Europe, too.
The poster measures 59.9 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.6" by 33" inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition, ready to frame.
